Let’s talk about setting some goals. Goals for this course, goals for the rest of the spring season, and goals for seasonal living in general.

You can do this in a number of ways - create a list, make a collage, do a mind map - whatever works for you.

Simply create some time and space and allow yourself to set some personal priorities.

What is the goal for taking this course?
- Was it to take some moments to disconnect from all the busyness of modern life and reconnect to a more natural rhythm?
- Was it simply to gain a better understanding of how to incorporate more seasonal living practices into daily life?
- Is it an exercise in self-care so that you can make your personal priorities rise to the top in the hustle and bustle of modern life?
What simple goals do you have for the rest of spring?
- Do you want to find a way to incorporate wild and local foods into meal plans?
- Do you want to get outside more?
- Do you want to spend more time learning about plants?
What seasonal living priorities do you want to create for yourself on a daily basis?
- Is seasonal living mostly an exercise in eating and preserving local foods?
- Do you want to make more time to experience nature as it is gloriously presented in different seasons? Live more according to that natural rhythm versus one made up artificially?
- Are you trying to be more creative with natural, seasonal materials?

There are no right or wrong answers, nor should those questions be considered exhaustive. The above questions are merely suggestions to help get your creative and goal setting juices flowing.

The most important part of this exercise is to create simple, doable goals that are in line with your and your family's priorities. These should be simple goals that can be achieved and built upon over time, because like the opening quote - doing is important than planning. Good intentions will only get us so far, acting on those intentions will help us live more seasonally.

Create only a few, simple goals. Don’t make 100 even or 10, try for two, three at the very most so that success is more attainable. Your goals aren’t going to match mine or those of anyone else and that is exactly the correct outcome.
