Berries are often some of the first fruits available to us after the long winter. The amazing thing about berries is that they vary wildly based on location in the world. Use your local berry season as one of the easiest ways to connect with the earth and eat local food.

The recipes in today's booklet are decided dessert heavy but there was at least one berry salad recipe in that lesson, so I don't feel too bad in giving you so many sweet treats today. Plus desserts are a gentle way to ease local food into our diets and routine and berries tend to be something most everyone enjoys. Please substitute whatever berries happen to be on hand and local for you in the recipes even if the recipe calls for strawberries.
